Sharon Wildwind is a southern girl, who moved north. All the way from Louisiana to northern Canada, with a stop-over in the U.S. Army and in North Carolina.
Both the Army and North Carolina form the backdrop for her Vietnam veterans mystery series. Like her protagonist, Elizabeth Pepperhawk, Sharon is a U.S. Army Nurse Corps veteran. Unlike Pepper, Sharon looks before she leaps—well, sometimes.
This is a projected five book series about the adventures of three Vietnam veterans, who are trying to adjust to civilian life. Problem is, they keep tripping over murders that cry out for justice.
The series is a little left of cozy, mostly because of occasional swear words. Hey, these guys and gals were soldiers after all. But it also has southern charm, romance, humor and great characters.
The series is published by Five Star, which vends mostly to libraries. So look for the series in your local library. If they don't have it, suggest that they might want it. Several of the books are out of print, but the author has copies for both libraries and individuals
