Honestly, I'm not quite sure where to start with this author. I'm only familiar with "One Nation Under Gods", and from my observations of that book, it would appear that he just isn't a credible author. This link may help the prospective reader to better understand Abanes' tactics:

I am Richard Abanes, author of One Nation Under Gods. To read my Curriculum Vitae, please go here - http://abanes.com/Abanes_Vitae.html . A more readable bio is available here - http://abanes.com/About_Richard_Abanes.html .

As for the comment regarding my book One Nation Under Gods and the attacks against it by FAIR, an online group of Mormons, it should be noted that the link provided is filled with all kinds of false information, personal attacks, and attempts of all kinds to make my volume on the history of Mormonism look unreliable. FAIR does this using just about every yellow journalism trick in the book, including partial truths and exaggerations.

Interestingly, despite FAIR's smear campaign, One nation Under Gods has been picked up by one of New York's most respected publishers, BASIC BOOKS, which is renowned for publishing serious nonfiction "by leading intellectuals, scholars, and journalists."

My response to FAIR's attacks can be found at my personal website here -

cordially,
Richard Abanes
