Chang-Rae Lee was born Korea in 1965. At the age of three, he immigrated to the United States with his family. After graduating from Yale with a MFA in writing, he worked for a year as a wall street financial analyst before turning to writing as a full-time occupation.
His first novel, Native Speaker, won the the PEN/Hemingway Award and the National Book Award. Currently, he teaches writing at Princeton University in New Jersey.
