Sharon Wildwind has captured me for several hours once again. It is 1974. Her heroes, Avivah, the cop, and Pepper, the nurse, are sharing a house with their good friend Benny whose marriage to Lorraine is due to take place during the upcoming weekend. Wildwind is a master at creating characters who are psychologically complex and unfailingly interesting. She makes us aware of the tensions Viet Nam vets felt when returning to the States after the unpopular ending of an unpopular war.
